MR MARIA

Counterfeit products

Mr Maria products are made with love and welcomed with love to homes around the world. Unfortunately this also means some people try to take advantage of the popularity of our designs. As a result we are sad to see counterfeit products for sale online, most often these adverts are for our beloved Mr Maria Miffy lamp. These illegal copies are often of low quality and are not approved for any safety certificates.

It’s often difficult to determine the difference between counterfeit products and original products in pictures. Sometimes Mr Maria photography is even used in the adverts to mislead potential customers. Below you can find information on what to look for / how to determine if the product you’re looking at is an official Mr Maria design. Together we can make sure that all family homes remain safe.

Official resellers

Order in our online shop or with one of our certified resellers. We are working on providing information on all official Mr Maria resellers on our website. Until then, if you are in doubt you are always welcome to call us (+31 (0)20 811 0022) or send an email to [email protected]. We are available Monday – Friday between 09:00 and 17:00 CET and we will be able to verify the reseller for you immediately.

Price and packaging

If a listing includes pictures of the packaging showing Chinese text, this is not a Mr Maria design. An additional basic rule is: if the price is too good to be true, it most likely is. Mr Maria products are of high quality, placing them in a higher price category. When you see a lamp for sale with an extremely low price, you can be sure that it’s not an official lamp and it does not apply to Mr Maria quality and safety standards.

E-commerce platforms

At this moment Mr Maria only has an official sales account on two platforms: the Dutch platform BOL.com and Amazon DE (Germany). Here, we always use our standard prices. Any listings with extremely low prices are not official products. On some platforms you can encounter accounts using our company name or something close to it (Mr. Maria or MRMARIA) – don’t let the name mislead you and stay alert. Certified Mr Maria products will never be sold on platforms like Wish, AliExpress, Alibaba – all lamps you find here are fake.

If you find adverts on one of these platforms that you’d like to verify, please don’t hesitate to send an email to [email protected] including a link so we can verify if the listing is for an official Mr Maria design.

Second hand

We never recommend purchasing a Mr Maria design second hand, unless you personally know the seller. Extremely low prices, Chinese packaging and long delivery times can be indicators that the listing is for an unofficial product. A long delivery time is usually caused by people ordering counterfeits from China and reselling for a higher price. Selling counterfeit products is illegal and we constantly have our legal team monitoring second hand platforms.

What if I accidentally purchased a counterfeit product?

We strongly advise you not to use the product as it could be unsafe to use. When you’ve purchased the lamp from an e-commerce platform, you can choose to report it to warn other visitors on the platform. Depending on the policy of the platform you may be able to get a refund, unfortunately this is not something we can assist you in.
If you’ve made your purchase with a store or online shop we would greatly appreciate it if you could inform us about this directly so we can take action. Unfortunately we cannot assist you in handling the incident between you and the shop. Apply your right of withdrawal in this case.

Make sure you purchase a safe, original design and help us protect the integrity of our brand by welcoming your Mr Maria design with loving attention.
Thank you!
